Java Install

1: DEFAULT BROWSER

Type "Default Browser" on Windows Search
Choose Edge

Open Edge and click + for a new tab.

In the address bar, copy/paste this and then click Enter

   edge://settings/defaultbrowser

Or 3-Dots, Settings, 3-Lines, Default-Browser.

Change "Allow sites to be reloaded in Internet Explorer mode (IE mode)" 
to "Allow" and click Restart


2: JAVA INSTALL

Choose "Windows Offline filesize: 56.89 MB".  Do not use (64-bit)

3: CONFIGURE JAVA TO ALLOW WEBSITE

Use Windows search to find "Configure Java" 

Security - Edit Site List 
Add
https://www.msnj.us
 or
https://www.monmouth.msnj.us
 or
https://www.morris.msnj.us
 or
http://10.0.0.196

4: SET MICROSYSTEMS TO SKETCH USING JAVA

Click WEB to open Edge.

Click on 3-Dots, Scroll down to Reload IE Mode


Internet Explorer mode pages need to include the entire url.
Add
https://www.msnj.us
 or
https://www.monmouth.msnj.us
 or
https://www.morris.msnj.us
 or
http://10.0.0.196/cgi/vect/search.cgi

Make sure it says, "You're in Internet Explorer Mode"

Choose Preferences on Microsystems sketch page
Java Yes and 1.4X 
Reload IE 
Allow when you see A website wants to open content
Run 


5: TEST DRAWING USING MOUSE

Choose Update on Microsystems sketch page 
Click A in Green Background 
Click Upper Right 
Click Lower Right 
Drag White Square to Change Size 
Click Lower Left 
Left Side 
Close 
Drag Red Square to Move

Choose Default Browser

Edge

Go to www.java.com/en/download
or

Click on 3-Dots, Choose Settings

Default Browser - Allow

Restart

Reload IE Mode

Done

Refresh

Download

Run

Install

Close

Configure Java

Security - Edit Site List

Add https://www.msnj.us

Preferences

Java Yes and 1.4X

Reload IE

Allow

Run

Update

Click A in Green Background

Click Upper Right

Click Lower Right

Drag White Square to Change Size

Click Lower Left

Left Side

Close

Edge version before

Edge version as of 6-14-22

Verify Java is 32 bit version (It should not say 64-bit)

OLD NOTES...

Click Show in Toolbar.

Version 41.16299.15.0 is too old.  Version 103.0.1264.77 is ok.
Version 113.0.1774.50 (Official build) (64-bit) worked 5-25-23

When on Java download page, Click on 3-Dots, Reload IE Mode

Run JavaSetup8u333.exe

Install when you see Welcome to Java = Updated License Terms
Close  after you see You have successfully installed Java
Add compatibility mode to toolbar

Check the version of IE.
Click on 3-Dots, Choose Help, then About

See Installed programs to verify Java is 32 bit version
(It should not say 64-bit)
